Nostradamus and World War II

Nostradamus has predicted

In Berchtesgaden, Hitler's Eagle's Nest is captured.
The German Army is put to rout.

According to my own method of interpretation,
only french lines in dark blue will be analysed and interpreted

Quatrain II-44

L'aigle poussée entour des pavillons,
Par autres oyseaux d'entour sera chassée:
Quand bruit des cymbres, tubes et sonnaillons
Rendront le sens de la dame insensée.

The Eagle erected with surrounding pavillions
By other surrounding birds will be driven away:
When the sound of cymbals, trumpets and the noise of battalions
Will bring the lady back to her senses.

eagle. Here, the word is both literal and symbolic. It is Hitler's famous Eagle's Nest [Nid d'Aigle], and it is also the roman eagles of the Third Reich.
grown,in the sense of to rise, to be erected.
pavilions: French definition: Bâtiment indépendant , souv. affecté à une activité spécifique.[Separate building, often affected to a specific activity.]
means nearby or surrounding birds.Again, the symbolic meaning of bird of prey, predator.
thrown out.
noise.in the sense of din. The din of battle.
cymbals. Even though cymbreshas been defined by a renowned french interpreter as a germanic people, I do believe it does not fit here. In the present context, the words cymbres, tubes and sonnaillons, refer to the same sequence of occurences. So, here cymbrestranslates as cymbals.
tubes. from the latin tuba, which means war trumpet. [Collins - Latin Dictionary]
No english translation and no french definition. Tentatively, I would say that it is an apocope and an apheresis which forms the french word sonnaillons. Thus, the first word would be son or sonnerie which both translate as sound, as in la sonnerie du clairon [the sound of the bugle] The second word is batailllons batallions. Thus, we have here three words that all relate to the same sequence of events: the sound of an army charging down on the enemy.
to bring back to her senses.
lady. In the quatrains, Nostradamus refers, literally and allegorically, to many ladies. However, I believe that when he does so allegorically, it seems to represent a country with a feminine name, which, of course, reduces the search considerably. insane. Thus, we have, to bring back to her senses the insane lady, Germany.

Interpretation

The Eagle's Nest, built on a hill and surrounded with pavillions,
Will be captured by the allies,
When the sound of cymbals, marches and battalions
Will bring Germany back to her senses and the Germans will capitulate.
Overlooking Berchtesgaden,
Hitler's Eagle's Nest burned to ashes

History

Located in Berchtesgaden, this bunker overlooked a hill where the Fuhrer had built pavilions for his generals and special guests.(L'aigle poussée entour des pavillons) As the war was about to end and the allies were approaching, (Quand bruit des cymbres, tubes et sonnaillons) Hitler decided to abandon and destroy the bunker: (Par autres oyseaux d'entour sera chassée:)
Berchtesgaden, May 5, 1945:
Yesterday, the 2nd DB, led by captain Buis and lieutenant-colonel Répiton-Préneuf, made its entrance in Bercgtesgaden, decorated in white as a sign of surrender. Americans had already invested the place, but the french knew that the most important catch was not the village in the valley, the name of which had misled the GIs, but the Obersalzberg where the Berghof had been built, surmounted by the famous Eagle's Nest .
Having already overtaken the half-tracks, captain Toyeras was the first to reach the Berghof. The french found the villas totally destroyed. (rendront le sens de la dame insensée) Climbing a little higher, they discovered the Eagle's Nest. Today, from their position in Hitler's sanctuary, Buis and Répiton-Préneuf heard the news: general Kesselring had signed the redditionof army group C that was facing them.
