Les deux copies aux murs ne pourront joindre
Dans cet instant trembler Milan, Ticin:
Faim, soif, doutance si fort les viendra poindre,
Chair, pain, ni vivres n'auront un seul boucin.

The two armies won't be able to join at the walls,
At this moment, Milano, Ticino will shake:
Hunger, thirst, doubt will torment them so acutely,
They will not have a piece of meat or bread and no other provisions.

walls. Here, as in many other instances, there is no use to try an interpretation through the english translation of the word. The key is in the french word murs which, I believe, has a double meaning.
In this one line, I believe Nostradamus kills two birds with one stone. First, he gives us the place where the event occurred, Muraglione, Italy, and at the same time, the word murs tells us it is the pass of Muraglione, a wall difficult to cross.
Note: In Italy, there is also a town named Murano. However, even though World War II has affected most of the italian towns, no decisive event [that I know of] has been reported concerning this town.

The americans had made a breach at the Muraglione pass, thus preventing the two armies of Kesselring to effect a junction there:
[P.626-627] The serious setbacks suffered by the two flancs of the 10th german army translated into an order, dated september 20 [1944], charging the 51st mountainers corps to back off to the line Verte II... september 24, the 1st division was occupying Pallazuolo and Marradi... that same day, the Indians joined the 6th armored division that had just taken San Benedetto in Alpe, on Route National 67, 5 miles north-east of Muraglione [aux murs] The 25th, during the first hand-to-hand fighting, the Ontario squadron, backing up the 2nd brigade in the region of Marradi, knocked out a motorized german cannon. After that, the opposition grew stronger as the enemy sent reinforcements in order to close the breach made by the 2nd american army corps at the limit separating [aux murs ne pourront joindre] the two armies [les deux copies] of Kesselring.
