According to my own method of interpretation,
only french lines in dark blue will be analysed and interpreted

Quatrain VI-75

Le grand Pilote par roi sera mandé
Laisser la classe pour plus haut lieu atteindre:

Sept ans après sera contrebandé,
Barbare armée viendra Venise craindre
.

The great pilot will be summoned by the king
To leave the marine for a higher post:

.

Analysis:

le grand pilote

the great pilot, the highest rank in the navy.
summoned: Coming from a king, it is an order.
from the latin word classis, la flotte, army or fleet.
promoted to a higher post .

Prime Minister of Great Britain
Churchill enters Downing Street
Interpretation

The First Lord of the Admiralty is summoned by the king.
He quits his post to form the new government.

History

Lord of the Admiralty, Churchill is summoned by the king. George VI asks him to form the new government:

CHURCHILL PRIME MINISTER Lord of the Admiralty, [le grand Pilote] Churchill succeeds Chamberlain as Prime Minister [pour plus haut lieu atteindre] May 10, 1940. During the dark days of the war that followed Dunkirk, the fall of France and the Blitz, Churchill's pugnacity and speeches rallied the English and encouraged them to continue the fight. He exhorted his fellow countrymen to behave in such a way that 'even if the British Empire were to last a thousand years, people would say 'This was their greatest moment of glory!' (Funk & Wagnalls Encyclopedia- CD-ROM)

Note:

De Fontbrune has linked this quatrain to the Saint League constituted in 1571 when Don Juan of Spain was put in charge of a fleet to fight the Turks. However, the clues given by Nostradamus do not correspond to his findings. In fact, Don Juan was too ambitious for the king's taste and instead of being promoted at the king's court, he was sent far away as governor of the Low Countries. Thus he certainly did not quit the marine for a higher post. (flotte)
